NETcon has been involved in Christmas Light installation for over 30 years.
With Christmas getting closer, the red angel lights are setting a festive mood in Timaru’s main street.
NETcon teams installed the lights over two days in mid-November. Installation work was carried during early morning hours (starting at 3am) to avoid interference with the day-to-day business on Stafford Street.
Throughout the year the lights are stored at a warehouse building in the port area. From there the lights are picked up by a HIAB truck and transported to Stafford Street where they are installed. The operation involves ten people, two bucket trucks, two HIAB trucks, plus traffic management.
NETcon has been installing the Christmas lights since the 1970s. The lights have changed their appearance over the years from stars and bells, to coloured balls, to the angels we still see today.
