Upgrade work was done to increase the line capacity of the power line along Spring Field Road, north of Temuka.
The 1.6km long power line is connected to the Temuka zone substation on Factory Road, and supplies the Waitohi feeder near Pleasant Point. An outage of the Temuka zone substation was required for this job.
The upgrade was done in two stages. Phase one included the replacement of over 30 concrete power poles with hardwood poles as these proof to be stronger. Stage two involved the re-wiring of the 11kV line to secure stable power supply with higher loads.
