Using a helicopter is an efficient and safe way to string transmission lines
as opposed to the typical method of installing conductors from the ground.
The conductor is attached to a pulling rope which is trailed by the helicopter from one power pole to the next and placed onto the rollers on top of each structure. The process is observed by linemen from the ground, and if required the linemen ensures manually that the conductor sits correctly on the roller. At the last power pole a lineman detaches the conductor from the pulling rope and connects it to the pole structure.
